Top Three Disappointments of 2012

3. Roland Garros. The tournament just didn't seem to catch fire. Lot's of sub-par play on the red stuff, high winds made some matches ridiculous, poor crowds and a lack of memorable tennis. Clay court tennis has become so predictable. Let's be honest, it was always quite dull. RG needs a rumble up.
2. Mardy Fish. Started the year so well, following on from his excellent 2011. Illness and injury ruined the year for him. A talented player, great to watch...a sad end to the year.
1. Bernard Tomic. Enough has been said already. John Hovis would be surprised to see him truly succeed in tennis.

Other mentions go to...Nadal, particularly his 'bump' of Rosol. Sore loser. Wozniaki. Isner. Dmitrov. Monfils. The pathetic response to blue clay from certain 'professionals'.

Also disappointing...the retirement of Roddick and King Juan Carlos. They will be missed. Finally, big Stan's recent comments about Fed's attitude to Davis Cup. I'm a big Stan fan and I think he let himself down. More on Davis Cup later...
